British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Tragic Road Accident

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, officials in Lagos confirmed on Wednesday night. The 36-year-old was involved in a car accident outside Lagos on December 29th, a tragic incident that resulted in the deaths of two of his valued colleagues.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

The sports star had been under observation while recovering from minor injuries, his management team confirmed on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on X that Joshua was judged healthy enough to continue his recovery at home.

“Joshua and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two deceased friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the official remarked.

Honoring the Deceased

The victims of the crash were identified as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. Omotoso added that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and full of emotions over the tragic loss of his two trusted companions.”

The news of his discharge comes as the boxing community had expressed its support for the star in the wake of the devastating accident.
